Balfour Beatty win £2M+ Scottish Water Solutions contract

Balfour Beatty Regional Civil Engineering, the UK and Ireland based regional civil engineering business, has been awarded a £2.2 million contract from Scottish Water Solutions to construct 13 fixed tanker fill points throughout Scotland.  This is the first of the new Quality & Standards III B contracts for non infrastructure works to be awarded.

The fill points, at strategically placed locations, will increase the turnaround speed of a fleet of road tankers responsible for maintaining a continual drinking water supply for residents, in the event of a major water main burst or similar incident.

Ian Barr, Managing Director (Northern Division), Balfour Beatty Regional Civil Engineering, said:

“We are delighted to be awarded this contract to construct fixed tanker fill points.  We have a long standing relationship with Scottish Water Solutions and we look forward to working together to successfully deliver this back up system for the water industry.”

The contract, which began this summer, is set for completion in spring 2011.
